Symptom #7: Feeling Down

We have all been through some tough times, and it can really make us feel down. It is usually only temporary, however, as things do change and we will be able to start enjoying life again. However, life can be very difficult to enjoy when your cortisol levels are too high.

Serotonin is a “happiness” hormone. High levels of cortisol suppress the levels of serotonin in the body, meaning that we have less of this happy hormone than we usually would. This causes us to feel down all of the time, even when there is nothing to feel down about. Reducing your cortisol levels should hopefully allow you to start enjoying life again.
