Symptom #10: Decreased Libido

Our libidos are also driven largely by hormones. In men, increased testosterone levels can put them in the mood while an increase in estrogen can do the same for some women. Some other hormones also play a part in helping to increase or decrease our libidos.

High cortisol levels, however, will reduce the levels of these sex hormones in the body. As a result, the patient is just not in the mood. It is something that can be very damaging to some relationships as sex plays a big part in forming and maintaining bonds. It can also cause a partner to feel as though they are no longer wanted.
