Nausea describes an uncomfortable and unpleasant sensation where there is an urge to vomit. Although it is not painful, there is discomfort on the upper abdomen, chest, and back of the throat. Nausea is nature’s way of discouraging the individual from repeating the action that has caused the unpleasantness.

Nausea is really strong sensation where the memory of nausea can cause revulsion toward the trigger. Nausea can occur in patients with migraine, motion sickness, fainting, dizziness, hypoglycemia, food poisoning, gastroenteritis, chemotherapy, and morning sickness. It is also a symptom seen in patients with septicemia. It can be managed using antiemetics such as metoclopramide, promethazine, and ondansetron.
