Symptom #4: Confusion

Confusion is the state where one is unclear and bewildered regarding the patient’s personal identity, time, and location. There can also be loss of linear thinking and memory loss. Confusion is often used interchangeably with delirium. It can be seen in anemia, anxiety, brain tumor, concussion, dementia, fever, depression, heat stroke, hypoglycemia, and hypothyroidism.

In septicemia, confusion occurs due to a diffuse brain dysfunction after there is a systemic infection. Patients who experience confusion should seek medical attention as soon as possible.
