Symptom #3: Tachycardia
Tachycardia refers to heart rate that is abnormally high. It can be defined as a heart rate above 100 beats per minute. Some causes of tachycardia include the use of amphetamines, alcohol, anemia, atrial fibrillation, caffeine, exercise, fever, hypoglycemia, and infection.
In septicemia, tachycardia occurs when it leads to septic shock. This results in low blood pressure. To compensate, the heart pumps faster in an attempt to deliver more blood and oxygen supply to the rest of the body. Other associated symptoms include dizziness and confusion.
