Vitamin D3 Benefit #5: Lowering Blood Sugar

Vitamin D3 has been linked to the slower rise in fasting plasma glucose levels. In a study done on non type 2 diabetic individuals, age 65 years and older, were given supplementation of Vitamin D3 over a 3 year period of time, had a slower increase of in fasting plasma glucose.

This may have a positive effect controlling blood sugar for type-2 diabetes. In another study conducted by Forougj, Maghsoudi, and Askari, type-2 diabetic subjects received supplementation of Vitamin D3. Results found decreased levels of insulin resistance in the individuals.
