5. Simmer
When your lamb is ready, it is time to add some stock, so you will need to ensure that you have used a large enough saucepan. Beef stock is usually best, and you can choose to make your own stock or use a packet stock.
You will need to prepare 500 g of stock, which you will then pour into the saucepan with the lamb and vegetables. With your stock added, bring everything to a simmer and then cover the pan. You should then leave this to cook slowly for around 40 minutes. This will give you time to start preparing the next stages.
