6. Mash

When your potatoes are suitably soft, it is time to make the mash. If they are not soft all the way through then you will need to boil them for a little longer. You can check by using a knife or a fork to see if they are soft in the center. First, though, turn the oven up to 350 F.

Drain the water from the potatoes and then cut them into small chunks. Then, get to work on mashing the potatoes with a masher. For extra creaminess, add 3 tbsp milk and 85 g butter. Mash until the potatoes have no lumps remaining and take on a light, fluffy texture.
