8. ECG Analyzation
The ECG review should include the heart rate, rhythm, morphology of PQRST, presence of ST, and intervals of PR, QRS, QT. To avoid overlooking important abnormalities, the ECG tracing should be analyzed thoroughly. The first step is to determine the heart rate. This can be done by measuring the distance between each wave. Next, the rhythm is analyzed. The intervals of PR, QRS, and QT also have to be measured to ensure there is no delay. The ECG can also show if there is an left or right deviation based on the axis. The next step to consider would be if there are any chamber abnormalities such as ventricular hypertrophy or atrial enlargement. Next, the QRST duration may show poor R wave progression, ST depression or elevation, and T wave changes.
