2. What Are the Causes of Vertigo?
There are a number of different potential causes of vertigo. Migraine headaches, certain medications, strokes, brain tumors, and head or neck injuries can all potentially lead to vertigo. Labyrinthitis, also known as vestibular neuritis, is a health issue that occurs when an infection causes the inner ear to become inflamed. This inflammation can affect the nerves in the inner ear that help the body maintain a sense of balance. Another occasional cause of vertigo is Meniere’s disease, which is the name for a buildup of fluid in the ear that can cause fluctuations in pressure. Vertigo can also arise as a result of BPV.
