It is a good idea for any person to get a lipid panel test, but some people should consider it more so than others. If you are overweight, for example, and you don’t lead an active lifestyle, then there is a good chance that your lipids are at unhealthy levels.

People that eat an unhealthy diet should also make sure to get checked, especially those that have a lot of fats in their diet. Smokers should also get checked as well, as should people that drink alcohol regularly. People over 45 should also get checked regularly, as well as people that have suffered from strokes and heart attacks in the past.
