What is a Lipid Panel?

5. (LDL) Cholesterol
A lipid panel test will also check for levels of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol levels. These are the ‘bad’ cholesterols that can cause you to become very ill indeed. The main threat from these is that they can begin to be deposited on the arteries in a condition known as atherosclerosis.
This build up of deposits can cause the arteries to become narrower, and this can impede the flow of blood through the body. At times, these build ups can become dislodged and block the blood vessels further down. This can result in serious emergencies like stroke or heart attack.
