Mononucleosis, more commonly known as mono (or the kissing disease), is an infection that can be transmitted by kissing or other forms of oral intimacy. Common symptoms of mono include enlarged lymph nodes and a sore throat. If the throat is sore, check to see if the lymph nodes are swollen. If this is the case, it may be mono.
