Symptom #2: Coughing

Another symptom that might emerge is coughing. Depending on the type of illness that led to the problem, it may be a dry or wet cough. Issues like bronchitis, common colds, and other respiratory illnesses can all lead to sore throats as well as coughs.

Dry coughs are characterized by an itchy feeling in the throat that may or may not subside after coughing. During a dry cough, the body does not produce or expel any mucus. Wet coughs, on the other hand, tend to produce a lot of mucus. In conditions like bronchitis or pneumonia, the mucus is much thicker and a different color than usual.
