Symptom #8: Hair Loss in Women

Hair loss is something that is quite common as people get older, although it only usually happens in men. Women are usually fortunate in that they will rarely lose their hair but this is not always the case. In cases of insulin resistance, women can find that their hair begins to fall out.

Hair loss in women that comes as a result of insulin resistance is similar to male-pattern baldness. This means that the hair will begin to get thinner and will begin to fall out at the sides and/or at the front. This occurs because resistance to insulin can cause havoc with hormone levels.
