Treatment #1: Ringworm on the Skin

Treatment for ringworm usually depends on the location of the infection. For ringworm that affects the skin such as athlete’s foot (feet), or any other parts of the body, over the counter antifungal creams, ointments, lotions, or powders can be applied topically on the skin for about two to four weeks. Some of the non-prescription products include clotrimazole, miconazole, terbinafine, ketoconazole, naftifin, terbinafine, ciclopirox olamine 1% cream, and butenafine 1% cream.

Topical medication should be applied on the area at a minimum of 2 centimeters beyond the affected area at least once or twice a day. Use the medication as directed on the label of the package. Seek medical attention if it does not improve or if it worsens.
