Symptom #6: Skin Nodules
Many of us are likely to develop lumps, pimples and other imperfections of the skin as we age. These can often be removed harmlessly, although many of us will just leave them as they are. Sometimes, though, such imperfections can become impossible to ignore and can be a sign of a potentially serious condition.
One of the most characteristic symptoms of leprosy is lumps on the skin. They can be quite severe, changing the patient’s appearance considerably and can even cause them to appear deformed. It’s something that would cause people to be ostracized in the past and still does sometimes today.
