Symptom #9: More White Blood Cells
While the red blood cells are the workhorses of our bodies, transporting goods to where they are needed, our white blood cells are the protectors. They help to defend the body from attack from pathogens and also help in the repair of damaged tissues. While it is expected to find them in our blood, there should not be too many of them.
In certain diseases, including Clostridium difficile, the body will increase its production of white blood cells in order to fight against the disease. It is something that will be found out by a blood test, but the white blood cell levels should return to normal once the illness has been successfully dealt with.
