High Blood Sugar Sign #2: Excessive Thirst

Excessive thirst that causes you to keep drinking water could be a sign of high blood sugar. This is more common in a person with diabetes. When blood contains higher sugar content than normal, the kidneys cannot cope with the maintenance of the body fluid balance.

At the same time, the kidneys churn out a lot of water through urine. These factors lead to an increased loss of water. By increasing the feeling of thirst, your body informs you of the need to take more water to prevent dehydration. If you are not a diagnosed diabetic, you experience recurrent thirst, or you are always going to the bathroom to pee, it’s probably time to visit a doctor.
