Lidocaine Side Effect #5: Swelling
It is quite common for swelling to occur in the body when responding to certain situations. This is often because additional blood is being sent to the area to help combat any perceived threat the body might have detected. It can sometimes happen when the body comes into contact with certain chemicals, and lidocaine is one of them.
Swelling will sometimes occur in the area where lidocaine has been used. The additional blood flow in the area can also cause the area to become redder than usual. It is not usually something to be alarmed by but should be watched in case.
