Symptom #6: Irregular Heartbeat

A healthy heart will beat at around 60–100 beats a minute at rest, although it can be closer to 40 beats a minute in athletes. Regardless of how often it beats, the heart will beat at a steady rhythm, speeding up or slowing down as needed. This rhythm is not always consistent, though, and the heart can sometimes miss a beat.

Missing a beat occasionally is not a problem in itself provided it doesn’t happen regularly. It can be a sign of a mini heart attack, though, so it should not be taken lightly. In many cases, it is something that should encourage you to seek emergency medical assistance.
