Symptom #8: A Persistent Cough
Every pump of the heart causes blood to go surging through the body. It keeps the flow continuing throughout the body and eventually every blood cell will complete a full loop, before starting the process again. In patients suffering from a mild heart attack, though, this system does not work so well.
During a mild heart attack, the patient’s blood pressure will fall. This means that it will not be forced through the body with enough pressure, and this can cause blood to back up into the lungs. The result is a persistent cough that produces a pink or white mucus.
