2. Feeding Problems
It is very important that young children get all the nutrition that they need to grow and develop. A lack of nutrition can mean that their growth is stunted and their mental development might also be stifled. For many children, this is not a problem, but for others, getting the nutrition they need is not so easy. Children with DiGeorge syndrome will often have a deformed mouth, and this can make it harder than usual to feed them. Chewing and swallowing can be difficult while a cleft palate can mean that food comes back up out of a babys nose.
