5. Stomach Ulcer Treatment

There are two main options for treating gastric ulcers: medical and surgical treatment. Medical treatment is used if the condition is due to H. pylori. Antibiotics, proton pump inhibitors, H2 receptor blockers, probiotics, and bismuth are the treatment of choice for H. pylori. You must also stop all NSAIDs for the treatment to work. Surgical treatment is used in the treatment of chronic ulcers that do not heal completely. Also, if your stomach bleeds or if the endoscopy shows tears, surgery may be needed.
