Illness
Infectious and noninfectious illnesses may be accompanied by diarrhea, vomiting or fever. Fevers can cause heavy sweating that lasts for hours or days. Vomiting prevents oral fluids from being absorbed, and large amounts of fluid may be lost through diarrhea.
