Technique #1: Deep Breathing

We tend not to notice our breathing. It is something that generally just happens without us even thinking about it. When you do pay more attention to it, though, it becomes very noticeable indeed. Paying close attention to your breathing can also help you to relax.

If you are feeling as though things are getting on top of you then find a quiet place and sit down. Take 5 minutes doing nothing other than sitting there and focusing on your breath as you exhale and inhale. Breathe deeply and steadily and you will soon find that you begin to feel a lot calmer.
