Ringworm on the Skin

Ringworm on the skin refers to ringworm that occurs on the hands, legs, arms, feet, torso and groin area. It's usually easy to treat with over-the-counter medications and often clears up within a few weeks. Treatment should be applied once or twice a day or according to the instructions on the label.

Ringworm on the feet is called athlete's foot or tinea pedis, while ringworm on the groin is called jock itch or tinea cruris. Both can be treated with over-the-counter antifungal ointments.3‘Treatment & Outcomes of Dermatophytes.’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 14 Jan. 2021, www.cdc.gov/fungal/diseases/ringworm/treatment.html
