9. Autism

Autism is a well-known condition that affects a great deal about the patient’s personality and their intellect. Autistic people will often have difficulty socializing with other people and will sometimes experience strong emotional reactions. They will often pay intense detail to something they develop an interest in, and can excel in some areas but struggle badly in others.

Many people with autism will have intellectual disabilities, but many are just as smart as the average person; some even more so. There is a lot we don’t yet understand about autism, but some people believe a leaky gut and autism are related.
