Symptom #3: Diarrhea
A stomach virus is also likely to cause diarrhea. This is a result of food passing through the digestive system faster than it usually would. The speed at which it passes means that there is not sufficient time for enough water to be absorbed, and this leads to stools that are very watery.
Diarrhea is unpleasant and it can also be embarrassing, but it should hopefully pass quickly with no damage done. Regardless, people that are particularly vulnerable should still be monitored. Diarrhea can cause dehydration and other complications in some cases and the patient should be getting plenty of fluids.
