4. Causes and Risk Factors
The cause of seborrheic keratoses isn't clear. Growths are associated with age and there are no known cases of SK among children. Sometimes growths occur during pregnancy or estrogen replacement therapy. Numerous medications, including several chemotherapy agents, can trigger seborrheic keratoses in some cases.
