4. Mononucleosis
Usually referred to as mono or “the kissing disease”, mononucleosis is an illness that’s spread through saliva containing the Epstein-Barr virus. Mono causes considerable discomfort in the throat, and younger individuals tend to experience more severe symptoms.
Although no cure is currently available for mononucleosis, many find relief with the help of over-the-counter pain relievers like Tylenol.
