It is good to have dogs in the home. Their personalities can help brighten up any day, and they also can be superb sentinels and guardians, helping to keep everybody safe. There are some drawbacks, though, such as cleanliness and hygiene, and shedding is often a considerable problem.

Some breeds are less likely to shed than others, which is an obvious advantage when it comes to keeping the home clean. Some such breeds even have long, thick coats that might initially make people think otherwise. If shedding is likely to be a problem, be sure to pick the right dog breed, such as the ones listed below.

Non-Shedding Dog Breed #10: American Bulldog

The American bulldog was developed from the English bulldog, and the two breeds share a lot of similarities 1. American bulldogs retain the classic, stocky appearance, although they are not as stocky as their English ancestors. They also still have the bravery and toughness that bulldogs are renowned for, while also making devoted family companions.

However, American bulldogs can be quite demanding, making them suitable only for experienced owners with the necessary time and resources. They don’t do well when kept inside for too long, but the breed doesn’t shed, which keeps the house hair-free. While American bulldogs may not be for everybody, they make the perfect companions for the right family.
