4. Cardiac Arrest
Too much magnesium may result in cardiac arrest or heart failure. Other symptoms can include lung issues and the shutting down of respiratory functions. Since a magnesium overdose can be fatal if left untreated, it’s recommended that a person seek out emergency medical care if an overdose is suspected.
